Leveraging Social Media Pt. 2

Video transcript:

3. Not all social media platforms suit all brands. It’s important to use your time spent maximizing social media impact wisely by choosing social channels based on your target demographic. Think about where your customers spend their time online. This information will come from your business and marketing plans. The best platforms to use are the ones that will drive more engagement and growth. Then, you will want to tailor your content to the specific platform as outlined in the Prosper resource library. The language used should be relevant to the audience’s age, gender, the product, etc. based on stylistic factors like tone and font.

4. In order to analyze engagement and what is working with your social media presence, the key is to use social media tools. These will allow you to streamline posting, track engagement, and analyze performance. Scheduling software allows regular posting with minimal effort which is important for maintaining engagement. Being able to see insights into which content performs the best allows refinement of content to maximize impact. Social listening tools like tracking mentions or staying on top of relevant and trending conversations online are also helpful.

5. Collaborating with other similar brands allows small businesses to expand their audience and cross-promote on other businesses’ platforms. This serves as a form of free advertising.

6. Make sure to monitor platforms to see what competitors are posting, join trends, and engage with audiences. Engagement can come from the inclusion of blogs, videos, infographics, and user-generated content. This includes customer testimonials which show their true experiences with the product. Hashtags, contests, and rewards encourage customers to post more content relevant to your product or service. One strategy to monitor the success of various content is to simultaneously launch campaigns on different platforms to compare which gets the most engagement. Testing different posting times or approaches both within one or multiple platforms helps businesses maximize promotion. Engaging with customers includes answering questions as a form of quick and personal customer service.

Step 4: Brand Growth.

Make sure to post at least once daily. Visual content like photos and videos usually gets more attention and engagement. Replying to comments and messages on posts, as well as using relevant hashtags to reach more people, allow engagement that makes the brand grow more quickly. Paid advertising can also help increase visibility by attracting followers faster than solely organic growth.
